The Next Mac
Hello everyone. Today I decided to talk about what I think is going to be stuffed in the next Mac that comes out.
Disclaimer: Apple attack lawyer's, read this: I am in no way trying to expose company secrets. I have only done my research and made educated guesses. Please don't sue me!
First of all Steve Jobs' Keynote is coming up in August where he is going to talk about the latest goings on in the dark and secretive company called Apple Computer. He's already told the world he's going to demo their new OS OSX 10.5 Leopard. But back to what I was writing about.
I'm thinking that he is going to unveil it running on Apple's new Prosumer Mac. For all purposes I think it is going to be called the MacPro (going with the whole new theme they have, MacBook, MacBook Pro). It is going to replace Apple's current Prosumer Mac called Power Mac. Their current version still has the old IBM G5 PowerPC chip. Now, I want ot see the kind of speed boost Apple is claiming that the Core Duo has given all the other Mac's.
What's going to be in these new Mac's you ask? I'm thinking that it is going to be Intel's new Core2Duo. It is supposed to bring a gigantic power boost to the current Core Duo processors. I haven't noticed any speed boost from the old G5 Mac's to the new Core Duo Mac's.
I don't own a Mac, but I do drop into my local Apple store and do basic stuff on it. If the MacPro floats your boat, then more power to ya'. But I say "Finally!" it's about time Apple get's its computers off of the old G5 processor.
